From Loro in the direction of San Giustino, having passed the cross-roads for Ganghereto on the right, ascend towards Casamona. Once past it, at the next intersection which leads on the left towards Chiassaia and Anciolina, take the road to the right and you will rapidly arrive in Faeto (altitude: 612 m).

Belonging to the territory of Arezzo – as confirmed by Emperor Charles IV in 1356 – this castle, the name of which was probably derived from the beech trees [i.e. faggi] that must have characterised its landscape, belonged to the courtyard of the Castle of Anciolina.
Only the memory of the ancient castle remains. Nevertheless, attention is being drawn to it so as to reinstate the framework of the medieval ordering of the territory.
The church of Santa Maria, rectangular in design like many in the territory, was located to the left of the ancient Romanesque church that has now been reduced to a warehouse. It is possible to see, razed to the ground, the outline of its apse, while a large opening has been made in the façade.
A 15th-century panel and a processional cross with engravings are preserved inside the church.
There is a food shop at Faeto.
